About This Program

The Topfield GRIT program for kids and teens consists of four, hour-long weekly sessions of working with a horse, a licensed Social Worker, & PATH certified professional, alongside a small group of peers, from the ground. Participants will learn the basics of horse care, grooming, and handling (on crossties, on lead rope, and in the arena). Additionally, participants will learn about horse behavior and safety while practicing non-verbal communication, internal/external emotional self-regulation and self-reflection, all while connecting with an animal in a safe, accessible, and consistent environment. GRIT for Kids and Teens meets starting on the first Saturday of every month at 2 pm, but other times are available. Give us a call anytime if you’d like to get on the list for one of our GRIT programs!
