Family Focused Program
New for 2019!
Topfield’s “Family Focused” Program
Communities That Care and Topfield Equestrian Center : Working Together to Help Families Affected By Substance Abuse
Our Family Focused program is a Ground-Based Therapeutic Horsemanship program being offered to those families affected by a loved one's substance abuse. This program allows participants to explore how they interact and engage with horses, people, and the equine environment. Through this exploration, individuals and groups are able to gain insight into their own thought processes and behavior and are given a supportive space to learn additional ways of handling situations. Through these experiential activities, participants learn new skills that can transfer to how they engage and interact with others in their day to day lives.
Un-mounted programs will run on an once a a-week schedule (Group- 1 Hour, Individual - 45 minutes, one day each week for 4 weeks)
Up To 8 Participants Per Group
Program will include herd observation, beginning horsemanship education, skills, and awareness, and establishing a baseline for the group and creating a supportive atmosphere within a trauma-informed framework to allow for maximal therapeutic opportunities.
